Background: Asphyxia is typically relevant in a forensic setting when it involves mechanical asphyxia. Thereare various means which asphyxia carried out like pressure over the neck form of hanging,ligature/ manual strangulation, mugging, garrotting, and, some other forms as smothering, suffocation, chokingetc.Aims & objective: Assessment socio – demographic profile& medico legal profile among victims acute fatalasphyxia cases at S.M.S hospital, Jaipur.Material methodology: cross-sectional descriptive observational prospective study that used inclusion and exclusioncriteria was conducted. 160 (4.90%) autopsies were these fatalities (n=3261) taken study.Thepresent had been conducted Mortuary, Department Forensic Medicine Toxicology, Hospital, Jaipurduring period from June 2018 to October 2019.Result observation: The majority 63 (39.37%) found be between ages 21 30. 109 cases(68.13%) predominantly male. 142 (88.75%) literate 18 (11.25%) illiterate. Students made upthe with 44 (27.5%), followed by homemakers 41 (25.6%). Hanging responsiblein (85%). Suicidal manner present (86.87%).Conclusion: Majority productive age group society most them students andhouse makers. main causes are high expectations, an unhealthy stressful lifestyle, less tolerantbehaviour families social groups. Justice, compassion, educational initiatives, individual, communal,and societal approaches required reduce cases.
